This annual assembly will provide a forum for delegates to advise the FSMC on the proposed draft management agreement with Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO).
Our negotiation process with DFO is well underway. There will be substantive information for your consideration in January. The input provided at this assembly is essential to the FSMC so please mark your calendars now. More information regarding the location and agenda will be sent out in the coming weeks.

Assembly Objective: Review and discuss the Draft Fraser Salmon Management Agreement and decide on a course of action:
1. Review 2016 Negotiating Mandate and how the draft Agreement reflects that Mandate;
2. Review in detail the Draft Management Agreement, including any outstanding DFO issues;
3. Determine whether Member Delegates are prepared to recommend acceptance of the Draft Agreement to their communities’ Councils; OR
4. Identify any shortcomings, and instruct the Main Table to continue the negotiation process.

2. Present status of negotiations with DFO

April 9, 2019 in Richmond BC The FSMC will be holding their next Assembly on April 9th, in Richmond BC. On April 9 your Negotiation Team will table the Draft Fraser Salmon Collaborative Management Agreement for your review. Upon your approval, the next step will be to take it to our Signatory Nations for ratification.
